Coexisting with Covid-19
The DOH requires anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 to stay home and get tested for COVID-19.
Additional guidance includes:
Masking
Isolation of Positive COVID Cases:
Outbreak Response and Testing Consent
If there is a suspected or confirmed outbreak in a classroom or across classrooms, testing and masking may be required to sustain in-person learning. Following the guidance of Seattle Public Schools, over the counter COVID-tests will be accepted for students and staff.
We will continue to closely monitor the development of COVID-19 and will follow the guidance and guidelines of WA Department of Health (DOH) and Seattle Public Schools.
Additional guidance includes:
Masking
- Masking will be optional for students, staff and volunteers
- While masks are not required, there might be situation when the use of a well-fitted mask will be temporarily recommended
- If your student shows signs of illness during the EFGS class, we will have them put on a mask before being sent home
Isolation of Positive COVID Cases:
- A person who tests positive for COVID-19 must isolate at home for five full days (Date 0 is the date of positive test). After five days, if symptoms improve and the person does not have a fever for at least 24 hours (without taking fever-reducing medications), they can return to EFGS. COVID-19 tests are encouraged before returning.
- If an individual tests positive after five days of isolation, they must stay at home for the full 10-day isolation period.
- Anyone returning to EFGS after isolation should wear a well-fitted mask from day six to 10.
- If an individual is unable to wear a well-fitting mask, they should continue to isolate for a full 10 days.
