LES PETITS ÉCO​LIERS


5-6 years old

Minimum Prerequisites: 
​> Comprehension of spoken French.
​> Basic oral French.



This class is a pivotal step for 5- and 6-year-old children as it leads them towards reading and writing. The emphasis is to provide the students with a strong foundation in French phonetics. The children are also introduced to cursive reading and writing. While some of the requirements are becoming more structured than in the Petits Bouts and Petits Apprentis classes, there is still room for fun activities and crafts.

  • Oral production and interaction (describe, summarize, comment, share an opinion…) 
  • Oral comprehension 
  • Vocabulary enrichment 
  • French language phonemic awareness and phonetics (vowels and simple consonants) 
  • Print and cursive practice ​
