VOLUNTEERING

EFGS is always looking for volunteers. By dedicating some of your time, you will enable this project to grow and help it to fulfill its mission.

Click on these links to sign up for future one-time volunteer postions on Wednesdays or Saturdays.
(Position descriptions below)
The spirit of volunteering is deeply ingrained in all of us at EFGS. We all share a common desire to create a comfortable, interesting and engaging atmosphere in which children will perfect their language skills and develop a French, or more largely a Francophone identity.
Volunteering enhances the experience that families, teachers and students have at school. It is a great way to get to know other EFGS families and to share information and ideas, while at the same time setting a good philanthropic example for our children.

What you can do to help
Here are a quick descriptions of the one-time volunteer roles during class:
  • Drop-off volunteers: Guide cars forward in the drop off zone, open the car door for student(s) and hand them a "drop off" card, then another volunteer ask their name by the door and check them off the list. Finally, they need to get signed in after the start of class.
  • Library volunteer: Must be able to carry boxes of books to set up library, get returned books from each class and drop off checked out books in classes. This is a more physical volunteer position so skip your regular saturday morning workout and do the library workout instead!
  • Recess volunteer: Supervise the students at recess, ensure they are being safe with the playground set and respectful with each other. Your eyes need to be watching the children at all time. The children's safety is your responsibility. If an incident happens, report it to Kader or any teacher present.
Sign up today for volunteer postions on Wednesdays or Saturdays.
